Personality: Light damsel thought she may be, Willow can be an acid-tongued creature when she has a mind to be. She has no real love for stallions of any sort; only a few there are that she truly trusts and cares for. She also does not believe in fathers. This, doubtless, is because her sire committed suicide when she was just a young foal and she has been bitter about it ever since. She tends to carry grudges, particularly toward males. However, despite all this she can be a sweet, loving creature, particularly to foals.
History: Willow had a rather traumatic start to life. When she was just a young filly, her father committed suicide, something that has shaped her opinion on all stallions very firmly. She does not believe in fathers, since she believes that her father abandoned her. Because of this occurrence, in her eyes a stallion is only there to sire a foal and nothing else. However, she has met other stallions who have helped to show her that not all stallions are like this. Shortly after her father's suicide, the blind stallion Jared arrived in the herd and she has felt him to be more of a father to her than Chance ever was.
Her life has certainly not had any shortage of drama, a fact aided most likely by her mother's mental instability. Midnight Madness was aptly named, with a tendency to do things that made no sense to her daughter. Willow spent much of her younger life chasing after her mother, keeping the foolish mare from hurting herself. Then, when the evil Streamer stole her mother, Willow followed from a distance, determined to get her mother back. Though she could not prevent the brute raping her dam, she did finally get Midnight home. The damage had been done, however, and when the twins were born, Midnight Madness disappeared without a trace.
With her siblings desperately needing nourishment, Willow came up with a plan to save them from starving. She went to the Silent Forest, found a stallion to breed her, and thus was able to start producing milk. Thus she was able to raise the foals, with the help of Telrunya and Jared. However, it was obvious that the mental instability of their mother had been passed on to both foals. Midnight Skye was just like their mother, while Aidan had a very dark, twisted bent to his mental instability. Willow is certain that, at a year, he had snuck off to watch Dark equines, for he certainly had not learned such evil from anyone in Glacier Springs. The wretched boy went so far as to rape his own twin, a disgusting deed that resulted in him being forever ejected from the herd. This act damaged Skye irreparably, however, and though she eventually left to make her own way in the world -- adopting a Friesian filly called Melage -- Willow eventually learned that her young sister spiralled into a deep depression. Whether her sister is alive or not, she does not know.
Willow gave birth to her own child, Shani, in the midst of all this and raised the filla with all the love any devoted mother could muster. The filly's father, Husky, also returned. Apparently he had come to the conclusion that, since they had bred, that she loved him. He was quite mistaken on that score, as Willow's goal had only been to be able to produce milk for her siblings. Though he eventually realized that going too quickly in trying to woo Willow was a bad route, he never did stick around long enough to actually win her heart. An orphaned filla arrived about this time, the young Winona. With a heart open to all such unfortunate foals, Willow adopted Winona, even if she did not verbally declare it. During the time that Willow was living with them, a colt entered the land of Glacier Springs. By the swagger in his steps, it was clear he thought very highly of himself and his alliance was revealed as he summoned Winona to him as if he owned her, obviously with dark intentions in mind. Between Telrunya, Jared, and Willow herself, that colt was driven off in a hurry....
Unfortunately, during the time of disasters that struck the land, Willow lost track of both Shani and Winona. Though there has been some comfort that both were young mares and could take care of themselves, Willow has never forgiven herself for losing track of them and feels that she has failed them. However, there has been little time to dwell on such facts or assumptions. Shortly arriving back at Glacier Springs, a stallion arrived with a young dunalino filla in tow. The filly apparently was very attached to the stag -- though Willow learned that he was not the girl's father and that she had wandered into his lands -- but he had brought Cai to Glacier Springs, as his own home was too dangerous for a motherless foal and he had heard of their close-knit family, feeling that Cai would be safest with them. Leaving the filla in their care, he departed for his own lands.
Taking care of Cai was like caring for her mother or sister all over again. Cai was a dreamer and perhaps a bit unstable. She got herself into plenty of trouble and it was fortunate for them that Edward hung around, able to help them out when Cai tried to hurt herself, able to convince her not to do things. But when the worst tragedy of all struck, he was unable to do anything about it.
What was this terrible tragedy? Telrunya herself, the strong, indomitable Lead mare of Glaciers springs, had been stolen by the Dark brute, Battle Cry.
Jared would have fought for the golden Vanner's freedom, but she forbid it. Her parting words are ones that baffled Willow and obviously broke Jared's heart. The Anglo-Arab femme had long seen the feelings both had for each other, even if they did not notice and to hear Telrunya's harsh words... it had astounded her. The Gypsy had then left with the brute who had stolen her, leaving a broken Jared behind. Willow did what she could to help him, but it was obvious that he was in despair over what had happened. To make matters worse, Cai disappeared. Figuring that the dunalino had gone to Edward's home, Willow decided to check and make sure the young mare was safe. She found no sign of Cai at Storm Hill. Neither was there any sign of Edward. Truly alarmed now, she has been searching ever since for both Cai and Edward, fearing the worst.
She met a stallion who assured her that he had news on the whereabouts of those she sought and, though wary, agreed to follow him. Her wariness was well warranted, for it turned out that this brute was of the Dark alliance and he knew nothing at all of the whereabouts of Edward or Cai. In fact, it had all been a ploy to lure her into his lands, where he managed to knock her senseless and place her in a cell. Thus Willow has been living in The Whore House ever since, but she longs for the day when she can escape, take her vengeance on the brute who decieved her, and find her family again.
Unfortunately, things haven't worked out so well for Willow in regards. While she had some hope that maybe, just maybe a chance meeting with a Versai Sister by the name of Allocen might mean her freedom. Perhaps in time it could have meant something, but another chance encounter, with a youth who wandered into the lands of The Whore House by the name of Counting Crows changed her life, perhaps permanently. Charm found the two in simple conversation, but jealously possessive, flew into a rage. He drove Crow out, then turned his possessive wrath on Willow. He'd never made any effort to take her before, but he did now, brutally forcing himself on her. Something about the event and the resulting pregnancy has broken Willow's mind. As the months of the pregnancy passed, something inside of her changed. Willow believes that Charm, with his connections to the Underworld, managed to convince a demon to possess her, one that begged him to name her, a demon now called Maribeth who adores Charm, a creature Willow despises with every fibre of her being, but cannot expel from her own mind. But is it that? Or is it simply the fracturing of Willow's mind such that, in some way, she can keep the vow she made to herself never to give in to Charm and his wiles? While Willow can say that she still hates Charm, will never succumb to him, this new personality with whom she is constantly at war for control of the body they must share is quite the opposite.
To make things even more... interesting, weeks following the birth of her foal, came a steal that has Willow overjoyed. Freedom from Charm at last. Maribeth, obviously, is none so pleased. What will happen next, only time will tell...
